  1. So I’d say I have this television set for close to two months now.

Honestly – I don’t have many complaints. I love this HDTV!

    Pros:
    1. ) Surprisingly light. Two people would be nice to take this thing out of the box due to the width, but I did it myself.

    2. ) Stylish and simple – nice simple design.

    3. ) Internet ready. I have played/surfed Yahoo, You-Tube, and Netflix. While I do wish the search capability on all three were better. . . well. . . you have to admit. . . this is a tv set. We’re looking for quality of the picture — And on Netflix, that HD feed is holy-crap-frigging-brilliant.
I totally believe if you have Netflix, the HD stream to this this TV is amazing and well worth the price.

    4. ) Amazing Picture quality for all HD signals — I was able to plug this TV into my cable outlet, and the TV picked up some digital signals. Eventually, I did pay my cable provider for a box and more HD signals. . . but honestly — i may cancel my cable. The digital signals the TV picked up were more than sufficient. And if you have Netflix, you really can bypass things like HBO or TNT or whatever.

    For non-digital signals, you do notice a quality deterioration. . . . but heck. . . it’s not HD.

    5. ) Crisp sound — surprisingly, very good. Except when I play my DVD. Albeit, it’s not that bad.

    6. ) No ghost or burn — i think some people complained about images being ingrained into the LCD when the tv is turned off OR the channel is switched. Well. . . i didn’t see any of that. It’s fine.

    Cons:

    1. ) My fiancee complains about the numerous options on the setup or switching from DVD to Cable to Netflix. I told her to stop complaining. But in her defense, you DO NEED to play around with the options/menu/setup to get use to maneuvering around on this TV set.

    2. ) No manual or anything — honestly, i have no idea if i’m using all the features on this TV. Would’ve been nice to have a full-fledged manual.

    3. ) No wireless. for the internet connectivity, you need a wire going into the TV set. Honestly, there are just too many wires going in and out of this TV set now a days.

    4. ) Price fluctuation-discrepancy – I see the price of this tv going up and down. . . i guess based on demand/supply, and a wide discrepancy between stores. If you just need a tv. . . well. . . don’t think about it, and just buy this beauty. Else. . . you may want to comparison shop here and there. I’ve seen a plus/minus 100-150 dollar range on this thing from what Amazon sold it at.

. . . but. . . yes — I am very happpy with my purchase. This is an awesome product so far.

This is the tv from heaven. I chose not to have high def right now, but this picture is so clear, I think high def would scare me. I ’streamed’ a movie from Netflix last night, ‘Passage to India’, and my friend, who has high def, swears the picture is clearer than hers. Clearness, contrast, sound, looks. The gentlemen who delivered the TV for Amazon were polite, on time, delivery came 3 days early, they unpacked it for me, and plugged it in to make sure it worked.

  3. I had this LG LH50 for two weeks and had multiple issues. Finally I had to ship it back to Amazon.

Firstly, My LG LH50 powers off itself abruptly and powers back on. This happens randomly. If it happens while I am watching Netflix, it reverts back the source to Cable so i have to start it all over again to continue watching the Netflix movie.

Secondly, The display freezes and the only option for me is to power off. Even the remote won’t respond.

I thought of returing the TV immediately, but decided to give it one more try. So I fixed an appointment with LG technician. I must admit that LG is good with their Tech support. He replaced the motherboard on the TV. The problems with the display were resolved after changing the motherboard, but now i had one more new problem. When i select the Youtube option, the TV would power off. And also the remote won’t switch the display between cable and DVD source. I had to do it manually. It was not a pleasant experience, so i decided to return the set to Amazon.

Now i have a Vizio 421 xvt for a [. . . ] bucks less and the PQ is awesome. Defineltely it is much better than LH50. I can still stream netflix thru my blue ray player. So no issues at all.

I definetley have a suggestion for all of you who are trying to buy a TV with addon features. Don’t trade the Picture quality and performance of a TV with the additional features its going to offer(eg: Netflix, VUDU, Youtube etc. ) You can always get these features in a decent DVD player. Always go by PQ.

    I love this tv.
This is my first lcd tv.
I switched from a 32 inch old tube tv to this.
I bought this because I have Netflix and wanted to watch the movies instantly.
The Netflix feature is so easy to use and works great.
Just hook up the ethernet cable to the tv and you are ready to go.
The picture quality is fantastic for both Netflix movies and for regular tv viewing.
I am no audio expert, but the sound from the speakers are more than adequate.
When you consider that this tv cost only a little more than a tv without internet connectivity, this is a wonderful bargain.

The deciding factors were the extra features. I’ve had it for a month and I am enjoying it very much, we watch Netflix all the time on it, I can plug in a USB and share pictures while the music plays in the background and we can share and laugh at the youtube clips.

The picture is exelent, especially the blue ray DVDs. I am very happy with this tv.
