This is an amended review. I’d give it four stars if I could change my original rating, which was based on slow delivery.
The product itself is fine. Only negative: the “base unit” has a wall hanging option, but it juts out awkwardly; it’s really meant to sit on a horizontal surface.
The phones are capable of great complexity. Programming them could give you months of nerdy enjoyment. But thankfully, it also just works out of the box without going into a lot of hassle. The address book feature looks very useful and easy to implement, borrowing from the cell phone concept of “receive a call–add the phone number to the list. ”
Super Saver shipping on this product was below par. I bought this on June 11, and it arrived June 25 (even though Amazon said the product was in stock). Tracking was pathetic: “It exists. It’ll get there. . . sometime. ”
So if you need this soon, better pay for shipping.

The biggest problem is you can only list one number per name. We are use to listing the name and add four numbers per name ex. 2cell numbers, home, business. The sound quality is not very good, I have a difficult time understanding the caller.
We were extremely upset when we ordered the phones and were given an option to apply for a Chase Amazon credit card and receive a $30. 00 credit on our first bill. When we received the statment we did not have a credit of $30. 00. I called to inquire why and they said that we were only approved for an “Amazon Store Card” and we did not get the credit. I ask why we were not notified and given the choice of cancelling the order and they said that they do not do that. We have excellent credit and needless to say we were very upset with Amazon. I have requested a return authorization to return the phones. Anyone that would do business this way is not someone that I trust. Amazon did offer us a credit of $30. 00 on our next purchase but not this one. I am returning the phones for this reason.

Ringer volume is incredibly LOUD on each phone; it cannot be turned down! And, the ringer has an irritating quality to it (it sounds like a child’s toy). We had to return it without exploring its features any further.

I took the first phone out of the box, and my wife said, “Why did you buy such an ugly phone?” It does not look ugly with a white background on a website while it is sitting in its cradle, but trust me, this phone is not nice on the eyes. It is very long for a cordless telephone and it shaped like most current remote controls. While phones in general keep getting smaller, these seem to have been stretched.
I did plug one in and it seemed to work fine, but I am returning the product, gladly paying the return fee to not have to look at these things. It sure would be nice for Amazon to display photos of these phones in a real setting, like next to something to reference the size. An example might be a kitchen place-setting, or next to (dwarfing) someone’s head who is using the thing. But you only get to see these on the cradle.
We will be buying all future telephones from stores, where we can see, touch, and hold them in advance. That would have been a better choice in this case. Thanks, Amazon!

We like the phones although one unit doesn’t work. It gets really hot and won’t charge. We checked to make sure everything was in place and batteries the correct way but that one unit still didn’t work. Other than that it is a great phone set.
