Wow…I was not expecting Modern Warfare 2 to look that good. I’m impressed. Now is this model similar to the US model VPCF1190X? Thanks.

How do you download an .iso of the Windows 7 install? I wasn’t familiar that Microsoft does this. I received a non-resale version of Windows 7 Ultimate that only had a 32-bit installation disc, but not the 64-bit which I needed.

How can I find the download link?

hey i loved your review i just purchased the f series 115 version in the US. I also wanted to reprogram my laptop and start fresh but i really do not know how to do that. Is there any way you can link me to something that can help me out like what you did to yours with the windows 7 ultimate and the other small installs you did when you refreshed your computer. Or maybe help me through personal messages. Thanks a lot

Sent and welcome! Hope you enjoy it

Mine is a VPCF115XE. Your model should also have the eSATA/USB port, it’s all the same motherboard and general chassis.

You will have a different screen though (glossy and not 100% RGB).

F11X5E, similar to the buld of the F11Z1E.

The F11M1 is silver and has an i5 processor I believe. Same general aesthetic.

The colours are very true on the EU Matte Screen. Not sure how you define jet black, they are very black and the viewing angles are very good.

At 1:49 : The ‘mic issue’ was identified to be a sound driver issue. A sound driver update from Sony website resolves this problem. This also explains that you don’t have this issue after clean system install with latest drivers. Nice review btw.

thanks for the review. Do blacks look ‘jet black’ on this laptop? Having seen the US screen, a definite problem is that it is difficult to get the screen to an angle where black does not appear washed out and all the other colours are still normal. I have an old Vaio FE11 at present, which doesn’t suffer from these problems (i.e. blacks will be true black, even tilting the monitor through a range of angles – it’s clearly a better screen than what’s on the US F series).

This laptop look like VAIO F11M1…?

Hello from Spain. Thank you for your review.
I’m seriously thinking about to buy a F series with the i5 processor configurable in Sony Style, but i have a question very important for me: have the model VPCF11V5E an eSATA/USB port???? In Sony Style told me that not!!!!! What is your model exactly? Is the VPCF11X5E???
    Thank you very much.

Thank you for the 4 extensive videos. This is exactly the laptop I ended up choosing and you have persuaded me that I have made the right decision. Purchasing next week! Would you mind forwarding me the calibrated monitor setting file (as per section 3) as I’m into photography and feel I could make good use of it. Thank you. Much appreciated!

You’re gonna have to be a little more specific. There’s 40 minutes of my opinion posted here :)

CNET is rumoured to be posting one up soon.

    I meant DELL UK :)

I love the system just beware the downsides are fan noise (to some, i expected this level), speakers aren’t great, standard hard-drive is 5,400 RPM.

I’m keeping mine for sure :)

At the timethe XPS 16 had a lot of issues r – such as the laptop being underpowered causing it to cap the CPU under load. I BELIEVE these have now been fixed in the USA, not sure if that has made it across the pond. Check with Sony UK/EU to ensure they are shipping with a 130W power supply if you go for the XPS. It’s a great machine with the problems fixed, but more expensive for less features.

It’s not when you open a Windows Live account, it’s when you go through and download the Windows ISO. It will give you a questionnaire you have to fill in before the link appears.

  19. MajNooNCy says:

No I believe the i5 models have a glossy screen which would make them different from the one in the review :(

  20. h0M3bReW3r says:

Hi, do you know if the lower down model with thw i5 have the nice screen? Thanks 5/5

  21. alessandrocar88 says:

thanks for the answer…and btw, i just ordered the Vaio VPCF11J1E/B
i preferred it and it was cheaper :)
    thanks!

  22. kelta92 says:

Could you send a mail to me about where exactly is that occupation list? I managed to find only one place in my Windows Live profile where I have to write myself instead of choosing my occupation. Thank you!

  23. alessandrocar88 says:

thanks for the review man! :)
i’m gonna buy a laptop, and my choice is between the XPS 16 and this Vaio F.
what did u make decide for the vaio?

    thanks ;)

  24. sader15 says:
